Blog EntryElection 2006: My Predictions (NSFO)Nov 3, '06 12:08 PM
for everyone
NSFO = Not Safe For Optimists

Okay, here's my prediction: CHAOS!

Pure and utter election chaos. We're all seeing the gathering storm in the reports regarding problems with early voting. This is just the beginning. And this is exactly the rabbit up Rove's ass sleeve. IMO.

You see, if there is as much chaos as is predicted, how can we have any faith in the election? In that case, it seems only right that some branch of the government will have to declare a national emergency. The election results will be voided after the fact because it will be claimed that we can not trust the results.

A new election will have to be scheduled. But when? Clearly not until a full investigation and report on what went wrong. And then only after the outcome of the report has been reviewed, confirmed, and a plan fro changes produced. Then those plans need to be implemented.

How long did it take for a 9/11 commission to investigate and report? Has that report been implemented yet?

This is my prediction.

Sane response:

If the election is botched and, as you suggested, a worst case scenario emerges wherein we have to void the election results, it can only bode well for progressives.

Any investigation will center on WHO allowed these unreliable, easily compromised machines to be used. It will focus on the SoS of the respective states where the worst election results occurred--given that those seem to be OH and FL, both with GOP SoS. It will focus on Diebold campaign contributions to election officials who implemented them. It will be another brick of corruption, cronyism, and graft thrown on to the pile that is breaking the back of the GOP.

IMO, the longer the GOP manages to hold back the wave of progressivism, the more violent and dramatic the coming change will be.

That's my $0.02.

Should we be expecting a "Non-sane response" as well?

"IMO, the longer the GOP manages to hold back the wave of progressivism, the more violent and dramatic the coming change will be."

I agree with this statement fully. And I did not mean to imply that there would be no change ever. But, again, I think you put my thoughts into words.

Yup, see...first you start to leak info about past election fraud:

EXCLUSIVE: LEAKED 2003 REPORT ON MARYLAND'S DIEBOLD VOTING SYSTEMS REVEALS SERIOUS SECURITY CONCERNS WERE WITHHELD FROM ELECTION BOARD, GOVERNOR, PUBLIC!

Then you start to prepare for the current election:

GOP Laying Grounds to Declare Fraud in Tennessee Election…

Yup...I might just be right...
