While everybody was enjoying the nice three-day weekend, the Main Stream Media announced that we’re all going to be blown up or drowned by a terrible asteroid named Apophis — that’s also the Greek name for the demon monster god of Ancient Egypt who devours all that is good and hides in the eternal evil darkness and commands an army of demons who plague mankind. (If you’re confused, just remember that Cheney is an earth monster and Apophis is a space monster.)

But there’s a chance of survival if you’re in the right place … say, shielded from the massive tsunami by the wall of the Andes and perched atop the world’s largest fresh-water aquifer. You know, where the Bushes and Rev. Sun Myung Moon bought all that land in Paraguay! Read the latest chapter in the Weirdest Story Ever Told, after the jump.

The alleged Day of Destruction isn’t until April 13, 2036 (or maybe 2029), which means there are about 500 other apocalypses expected before then. And the actual threat of Apophis hitting the Earth (or Moon) has been regularly downgraded since the first big scare in 2004, which either proves it’s definitely going to hit us pretty soon or there’s another one about to hit us, because suddenly the scientists are talking about it again.

We weren’t really concerned, because the White House is about to start a nuclear war in the Middle East and if that doesn’t kill us there’s going to be a Northern Hemisphere ice age starting in 2012, but a Wonkette Operative offered a theory so bizarre that it’s probably true: The Bushes are buying up all that land in Paraguay because the asteroid is going to hit the Pacific Ocean and the giant tsunami is going to drown everybody who’s not protected by the Andes.

I hate to say it, but, Apophis isn’t a rumor, a tall tale, a lie, imaginary, nor, I’m afraid, going to miss the Earth. When it hits in the northern Pacific Ocean it will cause a tsunami three miles high, give or take 1500 feet, more than two thousand miles long, from front of the wave to the front of the next wave. Where’s my proof you may ask. Well connect the dots. Who (which government agencies) has access to the real numbers? Duh? NASA? Who in the United States would have access at the highest level to that information, and have the authority, and power to ORDER that misinformation be publicized to reduce the fears of the general public? Hmmm? Who? Who would have the audacity to use it for their personal use as to not scare the general public? Hmmm? Gee, isn’t this getting easy? Who just bought a 100,000 acre ranch in Paraguay, behind the protection of the 18,000 foot Andes Mountain chain? Yes folks, you got it. Mr. George “I am the Decider” Bush. The guy who has decided to move his family to Paraguay by 2029 or earlier to protect them, while most of the rest of the world better learn to tread water. Bush isn’t buying this ranch to escape prosecution. He’s buying it to be protected and to protect HIS family. NASA and the CIA have figured out the safest place on the planet will be right where his ranch will be.

I am looking at a home there myself, for my son, and his future family. This isn’t bullshit like most things Bush and company get involved with, and it now make the global warming problem seem trivial. No wonder why he said it wasn’t a problem. He already knew the real problem. Apophis in 2029.

We would move to Paraguay, too, but the idea of World President Jenna Bush and Living Christ Sun Myung Moon as our only neighbors makes the whole idea of surviving completely untenable.

From all the indications we have studied it seems that the Patriot Act is intentionally destined to fail so that when the Globalists carry out a terror attack they can blame 'civil liberties advocates' for preventing them from keeping the general public safe and then reject out of hand criticism of all future police state legislation that they pass.

Neo-Cons who have received their uniform talking points memo are all over the radio bragging, 'you just wait until there's another attack, you'll be in the forced labor camps'. We have heard this from Michael Savage and many others of his ilk on numerous occasions.

Why do they need the Patriot Act to fail? Because if the Globalists carry out another terror attack right now, people will be inclined to say that the existing Patriot Act powers were in the hands of the government and they failed to protect us, thus discrediting the police state legislation.

This was the tone of a memo circulating amongst Republican elite last month which voiced concern about how another terror attack would play out. The authors of the memo feared that people's loss of faith in their belief that the government could protect them would override group think reactions of begging the state to ensure their safety once again under any circumstances.

If for a few months the government can bemoan the fact that they don't have Patriot Act powers to protect the American people, at that time it would be expedient for them to set off the suitcase nuke or release the biological.

The New World Order agenda is almost complete but right at the end of the line they're encountering far more resistance than they ever bargained for, which is why they may have to opt for a more sophisticated shift in tactics rather than the simple formula of staged terror and fearmongering.

The Senate is always more politically conniving than the House and the Globalists have a far firmer grip over it than they do the House, which is largely made up of a combination of people with misguided good intentions and those who are just selfishly interested in greasing up the power pole.

We have to consider the timing of the leak that Bush authorized the NSA to spy on Americans. The limited nature of this so-called revelation is a story within itself. The NSA has been spying on Americans for decades and Echelon has had the capability to track every communication in real time for at least ten years.

Newsmax admits that the Clinton administration used Echelon to spy on Americans but then performs mental gymnastics and double think by suggesting that this makes it OK for Republicans to spy on Americans too. No it doesn't! When Clinton did it, it was bad, when Bush does it, it's still bad!

Best-selling books like those of James Bamford written in the 90's brought to light NSA declassified documents confirming the NSA were spying on millions of Americans by keyword logging methods.

In stating that the NSA watches American citizens, the New York Times was by no means breaking an exclusive story. This was merely an attempt to spin what was already known and try to justify it by saying that Bush wanted to stop the terrorists. Consequently the NSA spying on Americans if it's 'to stop Al-Qaeda' is made palatable amongst ordinary Americans.

Subsequently the routine daily use of such measures becomes the norm, because the New York Times 'exclusive' was a means of announcing the use of such measures, coming out in the open and legitimizing the whole program. The New York Times is selling the story to the American people by whitewashing it.

Therefore the duality of the Patriot Act not being renewed and the NSA 'revelations' will become intertwined in the minds of the public. So when the next terror event takes place both can be trumpeted and those that questioned them and stood up for the 'God damned piece of paper' that is the Constitution will be castigated as the enemy.

The Echelon spying network and its operational infrastructure has been publicly admitted for a long time. The five Echelon countries, The United States, Canada, Great Britain, Australia and New Zealand all work in tandem to spy on each other's citizens, with Echelon personnel loaned out to each different country. This enables them to bypass laws stating that a government cannot spy on its own citizens, which is why Bush, Rice, Gonzales and others have been able to spin it by saying that the spying is international and not domestic.

The architecture of world government and the global surveillance grid is already is place and has been for years. At 11:04:45 AM ET Monday CNN was airing Vice President Dick Cheney's speech live from the American Enterprise Institute in Washington -- when a large black 'X' repeatedly flashed over the vice president's face!

The 'X' over Cheney's face appeared each time less than a second, creating an odd subliminal effect.

As this DRUDGE REPORT screen capture reveals, while one 'X' flashed over Cheney's face CNN ran a headline at the bottom of its screen: "CHENEY: I DO NOT BELIEVE IT IS WRONG TO CRITICIZE."

One top White House source expressed concern about what was aired over CNN.

Abstract

Among a fringe community of paranoids, aluminum helmets serve as the protective measure of choice against invasive radio signals. We investigate the efficacy of three aluminum helmet designs on a sample group of four individuals. Using a $250,000 network analyser, we find that although on average all helmets attenuate invasive radio frequencies in either directions (either emanating from an outside source, or emanating from the cranium of the subject), certain frequencies are in fact greatly amplified. These amplified frequencies coincide with radio bands reserved for government use according to the Federal Communication Commission (FCC). Statistical evidence suggests the use of helmets may in fact enhance the government's invasive abilities. We speculate that the government may in fact have started the helmet craze for this reason.

Introduction

It has long been suspected that the government has been using satellites to read and control the minds of certain citizens. The use of aluminum helmets has been a common guerrilla tactic against the government's invasive tactics [1]. Surprisingly, these helmets can in fact help the government spy on citizens by amplifying certain key frequency ranges reserved for government use. In addition, none of the three helmets we analyzed provided significant attenuation to most frequency bands.

We describe our experimental setup, report our results, and conclude with a few design guidelines for constructing more effective helmets.

Experimental Setup

We evaluated the performance of three different helmet designs, commonly referred to as the Classical, the Fez, and the Centurion. These designs are portrayed in Figure 1. The helmets were made of Reynolds aluminium foil. As per best practices, all three designs were constructed with the double layering technique described elsewhere [2].

A radio-frequency test signal sweeping the ranges from 10 Khz to 3 Ghz was generated using an omnidirectional antenna attached to the Agilent 8714ET's signal generator.

The experimental apparatus, including a data recording laptop, a $250,000 network analyser, and antennae.

A network analyser (Agilent 8714ET) and a directional antenna measured and plotted the signals. See Figure 2.

Because of the cost of the equipment (about $250,000), and the limited time for which we had access to these devices, the subjects and experimenters performed a few dry runs before the actual experiment (see Figure 3).

The receiver antenna was placed at various places on the cranium of 4 different subjects: the frontal, occipital and parietal lobes. Once with the helmet off and once with the helmet on. The network analyzer plotted the attenuation betwen the signals in these two settings at different frequencies, from 10Khz to 3 Ghz. Figure 4 shows a typical plot of the attenuation at different frequencies.

Results

For all helmets, we noticed a 30 db amplification at 2.6 Ghz and a 20 db amplification at 1.2 Ghz, regardless of the position of the antenna on the cranium. In addition, all helmets exhibited a marked 20 db attenuation at around 1.5 Ghz, with no significant attenuation beyond 10 db anywhere else.

Conclusion

The helmets amplify frequency bands that coincide with those allocated to the US government between 1.2 Ghz and 1.4 Ghz. According to the FCC, These bands are supposedly reserved for ''radio location'' (ie, GPS), and other communications with satellites (see, for example, [3]). The 2.6 Ghz band coincides with mobile phone technology. Though not affiliated by government, these bands are at the hands of multinational corporations.

It requires no stretch of the imagination to conclude that the current helmet craze is likely to have been propagated by the Government, possibly with the involvement of the FCC. We hope this report will encourage the paranoid community to develop improved helmet designs to avoid falling prey to these shortcomings.

Somebody's Trying to Kill "Hurricane" Wilma ... BEFORE She is Born!

With apologies for my unfortunate absence from this forum in recent days, for weeks now we have been presenting (in previous "Captain's Blogs") increasingly extraordinary images, archived radar data and expert testimony, all supporting the (to some) equally extraordinary new reality:

That, despite what experts tell us, the technlogy currently exists to actually control the weather -- and specifically, nature's most destructive type of storm: the hurricane itself.

And that "someone" has been using this technology this summer "in an undeclared, all-out 'weather war' against the United States" ... with (after Katrina) disasterous results ....

Tonight, we have discovered startling new evidence that we are right in this extraordinary model:

New MIMIC microwave imagery -- again, from the University of Wisconsin -- of the newly-formed Caribbean Tropical Storm, "Wilma."

The latest image "loop" (above) demonstrates an IDENTICAL "red tuning-fork interference signature" seen in a previous Tropical Storm-turned-Hurricane: "Ophelia!"

Here (below) is that archived Ophelia MIMIC loop ... complete with the same remarkable "tuning fork" interference pattern showing up now in recent "Wilma" images ....

Note how Ophelia responds -- both in terms of the wind intensity and the literal direction of the storm -- when this "tuning fork" pattern first appears.

It is our contention, based on the physics of these images (described at the official University of Wisconsin MIMIC site, here), that these bizarre "tuning fork" patterns -- note, geometrically aimed at the precise centers of these respective storms! -- are actually a "rainfall side-effect" of an unseen energy technology being applied to these respective storms ... in an effort to decrease both their wind velocities, and to simultaneously alter the storms' tracks themselves.

[In a future "Captain's Blog," we will lay out the complete physics (as we believe we currently understand it) behind what we are seeing in these astonishing microwave images.]

In the limited space we have here, suffice it to say that in this latest imagery of Wilma we seem to be seeing the first visible effort to reduce the strength of a potential hurricane; what we cannot see in this data, is the application of additional technology (by an "opposing team"), potentially attempting to enhance this same storm ... Wilma ... and then move it toward a specific "target" in this undeclared "war."

One important note: since we first called world-wide attention to these MIMIC microwave radiometry images in an earlier "Captain's Blog," the University of Wisconsin site has added a major "disclaimer" to all its posted MIMIC imagery. The new clam is that we are "only seeing imaging anomalies" -- created by the computer imaging process which creates these MIMIC imaging products themselves.

To which I have an obvious question:

If this is truly the case -- if we are seeing in these striking geometric patterns only "computer glitches" in the data -- why was this crucial "technical disclaimer" ONLY added to the MIMIC site AFTER we called attention here to the striking "geometric signatures" appearing on certain hurricane images within the archive!?

If this is truly just "a systemic computer problem," resulting from the nature of the satellite data involved and the algorithms being used to handle it, why was this disclaimer not posted on the site from the beginning ... for all the official users of this data?

Why not, indeed.

I think you know our answer ....

With that stated -- in the coming days, as additional MIMIC imagery of Wilma becomes available, it will be crucial for everyone here to watch for the appearance of additional "interference" signatures within new data ... as well as their direct physical effects (as with Ophelia!) on both Wilma's subsequent wind speeds ... and its direction of motion towards a landfall!

In this remarkable new data, we may be witnessing the first visible "confrontation" between two opposing forces (yet unknown ...) -- ushering in, as former Secretary of Defense, William Cohen first warned us in 1997, a totally new era of "global weather war" ....

What do we make of the Saturday, October 1 Washington Post headline “Poison Found in Air During Anti-War Protest”?

Washington D.C. Public Health Director Greg A. Pane posed the right question in the Post article, “Why that day? That’s what is not explained.” Pane pointed that it was “just this 24-hour period and none since.”

The Post noted that Pane found “. . . it was puzzling that the finding was from a day when the mall was packed with people.”

Puzzling? Indeed. Biohazard sensors detected tularemia bacteria at the mall on Saturday, September 24.

Equally puzzling was an earlier Post report: “Weekend protesters hit travel snags.” The article reported that Amtrak trains from New York City were turned back, cancelled or delayed from heading to the nation’s capitol for the biggest peace demonstration since the Vietnam War era. Also, Metro subway cars coming into the capitol were disrupted by repairs.

Federal officials are still pondering the death of five people on U.S. soil and scores of others who were infected with U.S. military-grade anthrax in the fall of 2001.

The wholly implausible “working hypothesis” put forward by Pane is that the bacteria found in rodents, rabbits and other small animals just happened to occur on the same day the trains failed to run on time and more than quarter of a million people assembled to directly challenge the Bush regime’s illegal war in Iraq.

Coincidence theorists. You gotta love ‘em and their great faith in believing in the statistically improbable occurrence of events, rather than an alternative hypothesis: that friends of Bush (FOBs) planted the tularemia bacteria, just as most likely sent anthrax to Democratic senators and the media.

Tularemia is one of six major bacterial bioterrorism agents, according to the Sherlock Bioterrorism Library serving the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases at Ft. Detrick, Maryland.

The BBC notes that tularemia is “one of the most infectious germs known to science,” and that it “takes just 10 microbes to bring on disease in humans.”

Tularemia emerged as a “plague-like disease” during a 1911 outbreak of “rabbit fever” in Tulare Lake in California. The disease progresses rapidly in humans with patients suffering from headache, fatigue, dizziness, muscle pains, loss of appetite and nausea. The disease progresses to inflamed and reddened face and eyes. The disease next attacks lymph nodes and glands, often with life-threatening complications.

Fortunately, tularemia is relatively rare in nature. According to the Illinois Department of Public Health there are generally five or fewer cases that occur each year naturally. The Kansas City Missouri Health Department tells us that most cases that occur naturally are found in “south, central and western states,” not Washington D.C.

Unfortunately, tularemia has been long used as a military biological weapon. We should consider the presence of tularemia a shot across the bow to the peace movement from an administration willing to cheat, steal, torture, lie and kill to further its political agenda. Karl Rove, the president’s brain, brags of his worship of Machiavelli and will do anything to keep his Texas prince in power.

This history of tularemia suggests it is a long-standing weapon used by fascists, militarists and authoritarians.

Japanese germ warfare research units operating in Manchuria between 1932-35 admit to possessing the tularemia bacteria.

The Sunshine Project reported in May 2003 that the German Ministry of Defense “remains engaged in a controversial biodefense research project involving tularemia bacteria that has been genetically engineered to withstand antibiotic treatment.”

Both the United States and the Soviet Union possessed the military strain Francisella tularensis during the Cold War. Dr. Kenneth Alibek (formerly known as Kanatjan Alibekov) the number two man in the former Soviet Union’s biochemical operations describes in great detail in his book “Biohazard” how the Soviets deployed Francisella tularensis against the Nazis in the Battle of Stalingrad.

In another one of those bizarre coincidences, Ken Alibek was also involved in the U.S. anthrax project run by the nonprofit Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus, Ohio. Considered the DIA’s and the CIA’s favorite nonprofit contractor, Battelle has been involved, according to the New York Times and the Columbus Dispatch, with manufacturing the infamous trillion spores per gram Ames (as in Iowa) silica-impregnated anthrax. Officially, the work is done for “defensive” purposes in order to produce a vaccine.

Battelle was in partnership with BioPort of Lansing, Michigan in officially producing the anthrax vaccine for the United States.

The New York Times reported in 1998 that BioPort’s owners included Admiral William Crowe, Jr., a former chair of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff and Ambassador to Britain during the Clinton years. One of Crowe’s partners is the mysterious Fuad El-Hibri, a German citizen of Lebanese descent and a reported business associate of the bin Laden family.

BioPort is partly owned by a top-secret British biowarfare consortium Porton International. Laura Rozen pointed out in a salon.com article that El-Hibri, then BioPort’s CEO, “made a fortune” for Porton International from its monopoly on the anthrax vaccine during the first Gulf War.

The New York Times reported that the CIA ran a top secret anthrax project through Battelle code-named “Clear Vision.” There was also another anthrax project at Battelle’s central Ohio West Jefferson labs called “Project Jefferson.”

Alibek has been listed as both a classified consultant with the CIA and Battelle. A 1998 New Yorker article outlines the joint work of Alibek and William C. Patrick, III. Patrick wrote a report on the potential of sending anthrax through the mail.

Unless federal officials are willing to think the unthinkable, but obvious, and have the tularemia samples independently tested, we’ll never know whether a deliberate attack occurred against peaceful U.S. citizens exercising their First Amendment rights, or some freakish and bizarre coincidence occurred.

In another coincidence, it was the Battelle Memorial Institute that “botched” the exit polls in the 2002 election that would have served as protection against the unexplainable defeat of Senator Max Cleland of Georgia who was up 9-12 points in the tracking polls just prior to Election Day.

The Free Press calls for an independent investigation of the tularemia bacteria found on the mall on September 24, not to be conducted by any federal officials in the Bush administration or Battelle. With Minister Louis Farrakhan calling for a Million More March on Washington for October 14-16, it is more important now than ever.

Hurricane Rita Discussion Number 15

Editors Note: Consider what would cause the electronics on board the Reconaissance aircraft to fail and you have a good idea of weather warfare!

The reconnaissance mission scheduled for this morning was scrubbed
due to electronics problems on multiple aircraft. However...before the eye went out of range of the velocity data from the Key West WSR-88D...winds of 100-115 kt were seen at between 9000-13000 ft. Additionally...satellite intensity estimates are 115 kt from all agencies. Based on this and extrapolation of trends from the last aircraft mission...the initial intensity is increased to 105kt...and this may be conservative give the satellite appearance.

The initial motion is 275-280 degrees at 12 kt. Rita should continue to move generally westward for the next 36 hr or so on the south side of the strong deep-layer ridge over the northern Gulf Coast. Beyond that time...the large-scale models forecast the ridge to weaken and shift eastward...allowing a more northward motion. The models have come into somewhat better agreement on this run...as the GFS has shifted westward from its previous forecast...while the NOGAPS and GFDN have shifted northward from their south Texas landfall. The forecast track is close to the consensus models and the FSU superensemble... being nudged slightly north of the previous track during the first 48-72 hr and slightly westward thereafter with a landfall on the middle Texas coast in just over 72 hr. However...these changes are in the noise level.

The satellite signature of Rita gives every impression that rapid intensification is continuing...and while the equatorward outflow channel mentioned earlier is not as apparent now the poleward outflow channel is still going strong. Thus intensification could continue until a concentric eyewall cycle occurs or until the eye moves west of The Loop current in about 24 hr. The GFDL model peaks Rita at about 120 kt in 12-18 hr...the SHIPS model peaks it at 122 kt in 48 hr...and the superensemble peaks it at 131 kt in 48 hr. The intensity forecast will bring the system to 125 kt in 24 hr as a blend of these forecasts. However...it would not be a surprise if Rita became a category five hurricane in the next 24 hr before weakening somewhat due to a concentric eyewall cycle or the lower ocean heat content west of The Loop current. Rita should maintain major hurricane status until landfall...then weaken after landfall.

America's meltdown—get ready for the next unnatural disaster

September 5, 2005 (www.EcoTalk.org)—America is in a meltdown. And the world is watching. We are a nation of haves and have-nots governed by lunatics and liars. I don't know if Bush and his neocon friends are completely incompetent, criminally insane, or just really, really evil. Whatever the case, I'm afraid that another un-natural disaster, worse than Katrina or 9/11, is just around the corner.

According to published reports, the Bush administration has developed plans to nuke Iran back to the Stone Age, an act which could take a large part of the region with it. Many observers believe that Bush wants to invoke Martial Law here as well. Rumor has it that Bush will use a 'staged' nuclear attack on the U.S. as pretext for his pillage. It will be an inside job, but blamed on Iran. State-sponsored terrorism against a nation's own citizens is a familiar ruse. Most people won't have a clue, thanks to our criminally-complicit corporate news media.

To succeed with such as plan, Bush would need to hold the American public under tighter control than ever before. To that end, much has been done. America is already a corporate-controlled nation. During elections, domestic and foreign corporations electronically process over 80 percent of all voters' ballots with no meaningful oversight or transparency possible. Corporations own most of the news media and telecommunications. A private Internet (Global Information Grid, or GIG) is currently under construction for use by the military and government only. So, the public Internet could be shut down easily. Meanwhile, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has reduced bandwidth for ham (shortwave) radio operators, further restricting low-cost public communications.

Enforcement of the USA PATRIOT Act will end civil liberties as we know them. There are reports that South American paramilitary units have been recruited to operate in the U.S. in order to cull dissidents from the general public. They may already be here. Peace activists in Miami suspect that private security personnel from South or Central America have been used by the Miami police during demonstrations there.

Our military is seriously understaffed and underfunded, while private security forces get billions in no-bid contracts. Military installations in America are closing, as private companies build secret prisons and bases around the world.

All these moves are clearly designed to leave Americans completely defenseless against their own government. The rest of the world is also at risk. With Congress in a coma, our military officers and enlisted personnel might consider their options. It looks like we're all are being set up for a take-down of epic proportions. They've done it before. The free-market fanatics at the helm of this nation have a decades-long track record of death and destruction around the world. We are a nation ruled by thugs. They start wars on helpless countries, outsource American jobs and resources, and pollute the planet for profit. They are relentless.

Today, the "Game Theory of World Domination" is in full play by the Bush administration. Chaos and confusion is their stock in trade. Shock and awe are their weapons of choice. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

What is important at this point is not their actions, but ours. More and more Americans understand that the common people need to take charge. People from New York and New Orleans know the score. We cannot trust this government. We must be as prepared as possible for any eventuality.

America is imploding. A new world will emerge. Things will change. At the very least, we should never again allow wealth and power to concentrate in the hands of the privileged few. Only respect for the common good will improve our chances for survival on this planet. Until then, may the victims of our cowardice and stupidity forgive us.

"Hyperdimensional" Katrina ...?

OK, it's happening again.

Last year, a series of four extraordinary storms ravaged the State of Florida in rapid succession, causing both devestating human and economic impacts. Several aspects of these storms caught our attention -- ranging from the "impossible" tracks each storm followed into Florida (examples below)--


To the equally astonishing geometry visible in the centers of some storms ... the incredibly "structured eyes" themselves.

Now, we're facing another monster "superstorm" -- Hurricane Katrina -- which makes those that swept Florida last year pale by comparison. The primary reason, of course, is that the city directly in the path of the projected 28-foot storm surge (!) -- and hurricane force winds of at least 155 miles per hour -- this time ... is a City least able to protect itself: New Orleans.

Lying in a natural basin below sea level -- in some places as much as 10 feet -- and protected only by its artificial levee system, New Orleans is arguably the worst place for a hurricane to hit on the entire planet ... certainly on the Continent of North America. For, added to the expected Catagory 4 storm surge of almost 30 feet, one must add the number of feet New Orleans lies below sea level. The total could produce a flood as much as 50 feet deep -- literally drowning most of the City of New Orleans ....

But, beyond the potentially tragic loss of life and property in New orleans itself, this storm carries an even larger threat: as this storm crossed Florida a few days ago, brushing just south of Miami at a Catagory 1 before heading out into the Gulf of Mexico, some observers wondered aloud about the potential economic impact of the storm on the entire United States ...

With gasoline already approaching $3.00 per gallon in some parts of the Country, and most of the National refinary capacity strung out along the Gulf Coast, it doesn't take an expert to realize that a direct hit by a major hurricane on those fragile refinaries ... if not the destruction of even a few of the hundreds of oil rigs in the Gulf itself ... could shoot gas prices to unprecedented levels at the pump.

But, as serious as these prospects are, there could be even more severe consequences for a direct hit by a major hurricane on the facilities lying at the mouth of the Mississippi River: the literal closing of the waterway -- for an indeterminate period of time -- to the entire Mid-West!

And the catastrophic economic reprocussions for the entire Nation if that most dire scenario should actually happen ....

These "geopolitics of Katrina" were discussed at some length in a recent analysis posted on the well-known on-line economic and political website: Stratfor Inc.

"A Category 5 hurricane [at this writing], the most severe type measured, Katrina has been reported heading directly toward the city of New Orleans. This would be a human catastrophe, since New Orleans sits in a bowl below sea level. However, Katrina is not only moving on New Orleans. It also is moving on the Port of Southern Louisiana. Were it to strike directly and furiously, Katrina would not only take a massive human toll, but also an enormous geopolitical one.

"The Port of Southern Louisiana is the fifth-largest port in the world in terms of tonnage, and the largest port in the United States. The only global ports larger are Singapore, Rotterdam, Shanghai and Hong Kong. It is bigger than Houston, Chiba and Nagoya, Antwerp and New York/New Jersey. It is a key link in U.S. imports and exports and critical to the global economy.

"The Port of Southern Louisiana stretches up and down the Mississippi River for about 50 miles, running north and south of New Orleans from St. James to St. Charles Parish. It is the key port for the export of grains to the rest of the world --
corn, soybeans, wheat and animal feed. Midwestern farmers and global consumers depend on those exports. The United States imports crude oil, petrochemicals, steel, fertilizers and ores through the port. Fifteen percent of all U.S. exports by value go through the port. Nearly half of the exports go to Europe.

"The Port of Southern Louisiana is a river port. It depends on the navigability of the Mississippi River. The Mississippi is notorious for changing its course, and in southern Louisiana -- indeed along much of its length -- levees both protect the land from its water and maintain its course and navigability. Dredging and other maintenance are constant and necessary to maintain its navigability. It is fragile.

"If New Orleans is hit, the Port of Southern Louisiana, by definition, also will be hit. No one can predict the precise course of the storm or its consequences. However, if we speculate on worse-case scenarios the following consequences jump out:

"The port might become in whole or part unusable if levees burst. If the damage to the river and port facilities could not be repaired within 30 days when the U.S. harvests are at their peak, the effect on global agricultural prices could be substantial.

"There is a large refinery at Belle Chasse. It is the only refinery that is seriously threatened by the storm, but if it were to be inundated, 250,000 barrels per day would go off line. Moreover, the threat of environmental danger would be substantial.

"About 2 percent of world crude production and roughly 25 percent of U.S.-produced crude comes from the Gulf of Mexico and already is affected by Katrina. Platforms in the path of Katrina have been evacuated but others continue pumping. If this follows normal patterns, most production will be back on line within hours or days. However, if a Category 5 hurricane (of which there have only been three others in history) has a different effect, the damage could be longer lasting. Depending on the effect on the Port of Southern Louisiana, the ability to ship could be affected.

"A narrow, two-lane highway that handles approximately 10,000 vehicles a day, is used for transport of cargo and petroleum products and provides port access for thousands of employees is threatened with closure. A closure of as long as two weeks could rapidly push gasoline prices higher.

"At a time when oil prices are in the mid-60-dollar range and starting to hurt, the hurricane has an obvious effect. However, it must be borne in mind that the Mississippi remains a key American shipping route, particularly for the export and import of a variety of primary commodities from grain to oil, as well as steel and rubber. Andrew Jackson fought hard to keep the British from taking New Orleans because he knew it was the main artery for U.S. trade with the world. He was right and its role has not changed since then [emphasis added]...."

Now, here comes the "woo woo" part:

Visitors to Enterprise who have read and understood our analysis of last year's "anomalous" run of hurricanes on Florida, have sent us in the last few days a series of images of the eye-structure of this hurricane: and, indeed, they match the extraordinary "pentagonal HD geometry" we observed in our analysis.

It was our considered opinion last year that this specific "eye geometry" was indeed the potential signature of a unique "Hyperdimensional Physics" at work within such hurricanes: a physics that we have extensively discussed here at Enterprise for many years ....

Here (below) is one of those most recent Katrina images.

The crucial question now now before us is just this:

Is Katrina "just another major hurricane" -- which "bad luck" has aimed straight at the most vulnerable city in the United States, New Orleans and, with it, the central economic artery of the entire mid-section of the Nation?

Or ... has Katrina -- carrying its tell-tale pentagonal "Hyperdimensional signature" (above), like the "test hurricanes" (in this model) of last year -- actually been hyperdimensionally enhanced (!) ... and aimed ... to do the most economic damage possible to the entire southern tier of the United States!

In other words: is this a blatant example of Tom Bearden's worst fears of a few days ago materialized (below) -- actual "Hyperdimensional Terrorism" ... hitting our Nation and economy at this most crucial time ... when oil (as of this morning) has now reached $70 per barrel ... and still climbing ..?!

"...This hurricane already made a right angle turn West to move across the tip of Florida, and into the Gulf, where the warm Gulf waters will increase its intensity and the damage it does. Some 40% or so of U.S. oil comes from that Gulf, hence the strategic importance of the targeting. The most lucrative damage path would be through the oil rigs and platforms, and then hit shore centered on New Orleans. We'll just have to see if that is the path generated ...

"So SecDef Cohen's warning was right on, and now we are into it. The hostile plan also calls for gradually increasing the intensity of the damage done to the United States by each incident, since Americans do not react to slowly increasing threats (that is one of our grave strategic vulnerabilities, as shown by a standard Strategic Analysis routinely done by military folks). So our geologists and scientists just blithely state that 'we have entered a geologically active period', and everybody thinks these incidents are just flukes of nature. That way, our national reaction characteristics are used to our own grave disadvantage ...

"As you can see, the major intent of our foes is to bring about a catastrophic economic collapse of the entire U.S. economy, something like two years from now, so there will result great chaos and disorder in all our cities, paralyzing out entire society. And all by adroitly engineered 'acts of nature', with never a nuclear weapon fired ...."

As I bluntly asked one of our own long-time "intel insiders," late last night:

"Are we, in fact -- as Bearden strongly now suggests -- immersed in an undeclared hyperdimensional weather war ...!?

"And, if so--

"Is our elected political and appointed military leadership even aware of this physics and technology!?

"And, if they are -- what, if anything -- are they doing to counter this most insidious of threats to our long-term national stability and economic livelihood?

"Or, is this a direct result of the last half-century of increasingly obsessive and expanding secrecy ... under the constant guise of 'national security' -- which has produced 'black ops,' and even entire nations, equipped with weapons and technology which would seem like literal 'magic' to any duly elected current Congressman ... or President.

"And, if so ... most important--

"Who's the enemy ..!?"

"And--

"Are they outside ... or inside ... the United States?!"

His answer was not reassuring ....

Bush plummets further

As just about everyone has seen, the new ARG poll has Bush below the 40 percent mark.

As Think Progress notes, these are lower numbers than Nixon during Watergate.

At this point of his second term, Clinton was at 59 percent. Reagan was at 60 percent. Nixon at 39. (Though to be fair, the Nixon numbers were Gallup, while this poll is ARG.)

So what's causing the downfall? On the domestic front, Bush has had a pretty good last couple of weeks, with passage of the energy and highway bills and CAFTA. So what's causing the meltdown?

Well, his Republican support is starting to crack (down to 77 percent approval). His favorability on the economy is 33 percent despite the administration's economic triumphalism in the past few weeks (down from 38 percent in July). Seems that the public isn't happy with the kind of jobs that are being created.

And Iraq (not addressed in this poll) obviously isn't doing Bush any favors either.
